Who we are
Electronic Music Maastricht (Chamber of Commerce number 93013280, VAT ID NL04993083B98), located at Sint Josephstraat 24A, 6227 SM Maastricht, operating under the name Electronic Music Limburg (EML), is responsible for the processing of personal data as described in this privacy statement.
Do you have a question about your data? Email electronicmusicmaastricht@gmail.com.
What data we process and why
We only process data that you give us yourself through this website or through WhatsApp.
- Enrolling and trial lessons: first name, last name, email address, phone number, the course you chose, whether the course is for yourself or for your child, your child’s age, and whether you want to enrol or have a trial lesson first. We use this to contact you about level, group and lesson times and to handle your enrolment. Legal basis: steps you ask for before entering into an agreement with us, and the performance of that agreement.
- Request for a service (hospitality, weddings, mixing and mastering, schools): name, email address, phone number (optional), the name of your venue or the date of your wedding (optional), a link to your track (optional) and your message. We use this to prepare a quote. Legal basis: steps you ask for before entering into an agreement with us.
- Contact form: name, email address, phone number (optional), what your question is about (optional) and your message. We use this to answer your question. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in being able to answer questions.
- Teach at EML: name, email address, phone number (optional), your role, a link to your work (optional) and your message. We use this to assess your response and get in touch with you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in finding teachers.
- News and updates: your email address, and your name when you enrol. You receive news from us if you choose so when enrolling, or a message when a new location opens if you sign up with “Keep me updated”. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- WhatsApp: if you message us on WhatsApp, we see your phone number, your name as it appears in WhatsApp and your message. WhatsApp also processes data itself, under WhatsApp’s terms.
Children
If you enrol your child, you fill in your own details as a parent or guardian. We only ask for the child’s age.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data and do not use it for purposes other than those listed above. To make our website and communication work, we use service providers that process your data on our behalf:
- Vercel: hosting the website.
- Resend: forwarding forms to our mailbox.
- Google (Gmail): our mailbox, where requests and messages arrive.
- MailerLite: sending news and updates to people who signed up for them.
Where needed, we conclude a data processing agreement. Some of these providers may also process data outside the European Union, under the safeguards the GDPR requires for that. If the law requires us to, we pass data on to a public authority.
Cookies and measuring
This website does not use cookies for tracking or advertising and does not measure your visit with analytics tools from other companies. Your browser only temporarily remembers that you have already seen the introduction on the homepage. That is a technical setting without personal data, and it disappears when you close the browser.
If we link to another website, such as Instagram or Google Maps, that party’s privacy policy applies there.
How long we keep data
- Requests and messages that do not lead to an enrolment: at most 2 years after our last contact.
- Data of students and clients: as long as the agreement lasts. After that we only keep what the law requires, such as our accounts (7 years).
- News and updates: until you unsubscribe.
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your data. The website can only be used over a secure connection (https) and access to your data is limited to the people who need it.
Your rights
You may view, correct or delete your data. You may also object to the processing, have the processing restricted and have your data transferred. If you gave consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
To do so, send an email to electronicmusicmaastricht@gmail.com. We reply within one month. If you do not agree with how we handle your data, you can lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
We may change this privacy statement, for example if we start using new services. The date at the top shows when the text was last updated.
